Selected Members of the Habsburg Dynasty and their Mental Disorders

This Bachelor thesis presents research into occurring mental illnesses in celected members of the Habsburg dynasty, with an effort to best consretise them from the original historical background and to compare them with current knowledge. At the same time, it will describe the marriage policy that cintributed to the emergence of mental illness in individual members. The aim of the work is to get acquainted with the Habsburg dynasty, characterize the mental disorders occurring in this magnificent dynasty and evaluate the manifestations of individual diseases.
The Fugger and their contacts with Hapsburgs in 15th and 16th century

The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate the political and financial cooperation between the merchants of the House of Fugger and the rulers of the House of Habsburg, in particular in the second half of the 15th and the first half of the 16th centuries. The thesis examines the relationship between the two houses in the context of general European developments. The thesis describes the arrival of Hans, the first of the Fuggers, to Augsburg in 1367 and then the 'golden age' of the Fugger family under the helm of Jakob Fugger, known as the Rich. This period marked the closest relations between the Fuggers and the Habsburgs, as evidenced by the coronations of Maximilian I and Charles V. Following the death of Jakob, Anton Fugger took over the family business. Although the wealth of the Fugger family peaked in 1546, this period was characterized by a slow dissolution of the partnership with the Habsburgs. At the same time, the Fuggers started an intended retreat from mining and finance and began to move into distance-trade and real estate purchases. Anton was no longer able to maintain the position of 'the Emperor's banker' once attained by his uncle and refused to be just a piece on the chessboard of Habsburg interests. Archdukess Eleonora and Alfons von Kloss

This thesis deals with the morganatic marriage of archdukess Eleonora and naval officer Alfons von Kloss in 1913, which was the first marriage of a Habsburg archdukess with a member of lower nobility. It focuses mainly on the analysis of the Imperial Austrian Family Statute and moganatic marriages of the Habsburg-Lorraine family. Furthermore, it deals with the Habsburgs of Austria-Teschen and the analysis of the Eleonora's marriage. The fashion of Czech renaissance nobility of the second half of the 16. Century in terms of portait painting

Fashion of Czech renaissance nobility of the second half of the 16th century from the point of view of portrait painting. This bachelor thesis focuses on Renaissance fashion of the Czech nobility. Specific portraits of noblewomen and noblemen from preselected families were chosen and will serve as a basis for development and iconography - or potential political and religious context - analysis of the aristocratic dress. The aim of this thesis is to examine the Czech Renaissance (late 16th century) fashion development with the help of portrait painting. Comparison with Spanish portraits will be presented alongside the overall meaning of the portrait, iconography, family history and available Renaissance fashion development theories. Eva Samková: Španělsko Karla V. pohledem španělské a zahraniční historiografie bakalářské práce Abstract Bachelor thesis "Spain of Charles V in the vision of the Spanish and foreign historiography" focuses on the person and government of Emperor Charles V in Spain in the years 1516- 1556. The aim of the thesis is to compare texts, ideas and theories in the works of historians engaged in European history of the 16th century and the person of the Emperor Charles V. Specifically, the works of the Spanish historian M. F. Álvarez (Biografia de una nacion. Madrid 2010), German historians K. Brandi (Emperor Charles V. The growth and destiny of a man and of a world-empire. London 1968) and F. Seibt (Charles V. Emperor and the Reformation. Prague 1999), Austrian historian F. Heer (European spiritual history. Prague 2000) and international collection of essays, whose editor is H. Soly (Charles V. 1500-1558 and his time. Antverps) 1999). First is introduction to the life and personality of Charles V in the brief biography and a further follow excerpts from each studied books, supplemented by quotations from the original text. Finally, the actual comparison of the aforementioned literature.

Apotheosis of Emperor Joseph I in Prague collection of university theses. The bachelor´s work will deal with university theses of Prague environs that came into existence between 17th and 18th century. Two graphics will be the main object of bachelor´s work; their theme is the glorification of Emperor Joseph I. of Habsburg. Attention is concentrated on iconography analysis of two graphics, determination of the identity of depict persons and historical events. University theses are set into the historical and artistic context of the time of their origins and are given into connection with imaging glorification of Habsburg family on graphics of Prague university environs.

Bibliographic Citation Josef Max and Czech Sculpture in the Second Third of the 19th Century [manuscript]: Bachelor's Thesis / Adam Hnojil; Thesis supervisor: PhDr. Milan Pech, Ph.D. Prague, 2016, 225 p. Anotation This monographic study aims to describe and interpret the sculpture work of the leading Czech artist from the second third of the 19th century. The thesis is focused on his life and work in the context of the late neoclassicism and romantic historicism. In the first part the author is analyzed within the framework of the Czech art history. Follows the discussion of the stylistic ambiguities of the artistic pluralism of the 19th century, which is causing problems with clear definition of styles up to these days. The very core of the work lies in a biographical study reflecting the life of the North Bohemian native and his most important works, among which the most prominent are the memorial sculptures in the Czech lands and abroad. Philippine Welser between Czech-language and German-language historical Memory

This bachelor thesis deals with the life story of Philippine Welser (1527-1580), the ignoble wife of Ferdinand II., Archduke of Austria (1529-1595), as a subject for literary, theatrical and visual inspiration. The thesis draws on sources dating from the 16th century to the present and it also maps how castle and chateau expositions treat the topic. The methodology is based on the Czech tradition of exploration of Second Life. Comparison of sources of linguistically Czech and German-speaking environments yielded findings that these two traditions differ, each emphasizes a different part of life of Philippine Welser while both cope with aspects that the Czech National Revival, as well as the disintegration of the Austrian monarchy and development in the twentieth century brought.
